Book Swap

This weekend, 2nd &3rd of April at the National Waterfront Museum there is a book swap event, organised with Oxfam and the Environment Centre. It's a chance to swap any unwanted books for a new read - for free! The 'book' event inspired a drop-in Make and Mend workshop which was also at the Museum today.  We de-constructed old books and transformed them into photo frames, necklaces, envelopes etc....!

Every month there is a themed up-cycling workshop for adults where you can delve into baskets of forgotten bits and bobs and create something to be proud of.  Not only is it a fantastic way to help the environment, but its a lot of fun too! The next Make&Mend workshop at the museum is on the 7th of May and the theme is Plants & Flowers. The afternoon workshops are between 1:30pm-4pm and are £3 each, places are limited so  advance booking is required on (01792)638950

Here are some examples below of the photo frames I made today.

And there are so many more things you can do with old book pages like these flower corsages!
